Events and Environments Director

Type: Non-Exempt/Part-Time (25 hours)

As the Event and Environment Director of Riverside Community Church, fulfilling scheduling, staffing, and planning of all large internal and external events while overseeing the environment that God has provided is vital to the success of the ministry and church

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage event approvals and communicate promptly and clearly to proper ministries once events are approved by Executive team

  • Communicate policies and guidelines to those approved to utilize Riverside facilities 

  • Point of contact for outside vendors coming in for special events

  • Work closely with event organizers and onsite event teams, including our ministry leaders

  • Discuss and explain fee schedules with building users if applicable

  • Welcome guests in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner

  • Facilitate receptions held at Riverside facilities

  • Communicate well with receptionist in confirming scheduled events and up to date resources

  • Recruit and facilitate sign-ups for those serving as needed

  • Manage scheduling and training of those serving for each event

  • Oversee the planning, creation, and implementation of all church environments (lobby, lower level, courtyard, etc)

  • Communicate maintenance and janitorial needs in a timely manner

  • Complete weekly inventory and stocking of RCC merch, communicating any needs to creative

  • Operate within the constraints of the budget with a monthly reconciliation of receipts

  • Ensure compliance and implementation of policies put in place by leadership

REQUIRED 

  • Strong organizational ability and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of event planning

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to relate and work well with others

  • Proficient computer skills; ability to utilize Planning Center

  • Familiarity with standard office forms and ability to create such

  • Great time management skills & ability to work under pressure

  • A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-13; 2 Timothy 2; Titus 1:5-9)

DESIRABLE

  • 2 years of event planning experience
